Waiting for Sunrise, to Fish Big Hole

“Damn, bro, I’ve never seen you on your phone as much as I have this week,” one of my guys said to me.

“Trust me, I wish I could turn it off,” I replied.

That pretty much sums up my week in Butte. The entire week was nothing but one big week of prep for Monday’s big start. Every department was scrambling getting their last-minute preps in order. I was caught in the middle of it all. Between coordinating with different departments and prepping our trucks, I also had to deal with internal office stuff—payroll, orders, timecards, check requests, blah blah blah. “Damn, are you seeking pity from the readers? You always seem to complain about something. Quit being such a baby.”

It’s not all bad. I am sitting here in my car, writing this, waiting for the sun to come up here at big hole river, so I can go throw a line out… Almost there!

This week I also took possession of my house, a nice two bed one bath. Everything is brand new— couch, bedroom sets, appliances, flooring, paint, tile, etc. I’m not going to lie, I’m excited about that. For the first time since I’ve been in Butte, I was able to cook. “Sheesh, dude, you were only in a hotel a week and a half. Stop making it sound like it was that bad. No one really cares.”

I did have every intention of coming out to big hole yesterday, but it really was just one of those days where I wanted to get settled, do laundry, shop, and recover from the week.

“Hey, dude, it’s light out. You gonna fish, or keep blathering on about nonsense?”
